FINANCIAL WELLNESS PROGRAM
“MONEY SMART” STARTS UP AGAIN FEBRUARY 20th

Money Smart, a seven-week financial wellness program, will be offered at the Library beginning on February 20th. Pathfinder Bank, the Oswego Public Library and SUNY Oswego will combine resources and expertise to cover a host of topics to help people better manage, plan and spend their hard-earned dollars. The curriculum will accompany the Money Smart Computer Based Adult Education Program offered through the FDIC.

The curriculum that will be offered at the Oswego Public Library will include the following:

“Bank On It” - An introduction to bank services. “Check It Out” – How to choose and keep a checking account. Both Wednesday, February 20 from 6-7:30 p.m.

“Borrowing Basics” - An introduction to credit. Wednesday, February 27 from 6-7:30 p.m.

“Pay Yourself First” - Why you should save. Wednesday, March 5 from 6-7:30 p.m.

“Money Matters” - Keeping track of your money. Wednesday, March 12 from 6-7:30 p.m.

“Keep It Safe” - Your rights as a consumer. Wednesday, March 19 from 6-7:30 p.m.

“To Your Credit” - How your credit history affects your future. Charge it Right” – How to make a credit card work for you. Both Wednesday, March 26 from 6-7:30 p.m.

“Loan To Own” – Know what you’re borrowing before you buy. “Your Own Home” – What homeownership is all about”. Both Tuesday, April 1 from 6-7:30 p.m.  Note change in day.

All programs will be taught by experts in their respective fields from Pathfinder Bank, the Oswego Public Library and SUNY Oswego. The program is free to the public. For more information please call the Oswego Public Library at 315-341-5867. Registration is encouraged. Class sizes are limited.

 
Winter Spring Line Up
Reading Circle

The Winter/Spring line up of books for the Reading Circle has been announced. Dates and titles appear below. Reading Circle meets at the Library on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm until 8:00pm. Everyone is welcome to read the books, then come to discuss them. There is no fee to participate.

What could be finer than sampling good wine and scrumptious chocolate on a late Friday afternoon?

Well, you can do just that if you participate in the Have a Heart for the Library event.

Purchase a "heart" at participating locations. Attend the event on March 7 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Canal Commons (West First Street). Wines provided by Andrew's Wine Cellar. Chocolates provided by Man in the Moon Candies. The "hearts" will be used to decorate the Canal Commons.
