Hear representatives from the Oswego Opera Theater and the Safe Haven Holocaust Refugee Shelter Museum tell the story of a long-lost operetta that was recently discovered and will be performed November 12 and 13. “The Golden Cage” was created by two of the refugees who lived at the Safe Haven shelter from 1944-46. It was performed just twice, the last time in January 1946. Now more than 75 years later, the operetta has come to life again. Juan LaManna and Marilynn Smiley from the Oswego Opera Theater, along with Audrey Hurley from Safe Haven, will be the featured speakers. The program is free and all are welcome to attend.

The Full Operetta “The Golden Cage” will be preformed at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and at 3 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 13 in the Waterman Theater of Tyler Hall on the SUNY Oswego campus. Tickets may be found here: https://oswego.universitytickets.com/?cid=174
